Beyonce’s greatest hits, a good self tanner and a seriously healthy Wi-Fi connection for emails…
These are Roxy Jacenko’s non-negotiables when it comes to jet-setting in style.
Despite my hectic schedule, I don’t need to escape to ‘switch off’ too often…
Sounds crazy but I love the fast pace of my life.
When Sunday rolls around I am at a loose end and looking for things to do, I am not really a sit down and chill kind of a girl.
If I could be anywhere in the world and there was a jet waiting to take me then I’d pick Laucala Island in FIJI, a private island like nothing I have ever experienced before.
I can easily list off some of my most memorable meals from my travels…
Chef Anthony Healy of Laucala Island’s food was BEYOND incredible, every dish was an artwork.
The food at Cecconi’s in West Hollywood: Breakfast, lunch and dinner is always faultless.
I also love the salads and salmon bagel at The Beverly Hills Hotel.
Locally, I recently discovered Hellenika in the Gold Coast, it has the most incredible Greek Food
and
BSKT on Mermaid Beach for their breakfasts, specifically the Coco Whip, I am still dreaming about it.
In Paris, I love the food at the Four Seasons Hotel and I can read the menu which is always a plus.
Here at home in Sydney I love…
Catalina is a favorite for special occasions.
I love Upper East Side in Bondi for Friday drinks and nibbles (their cocktails are off the chart).
My favourite Italian at the moment is OLIO which is in Kensington Street Chippendale and for dessert I head to KOI in Chippendale.
Casual take out with the kids is always Chargrill Charlies, Pix and Hunter LOVE the chicken schnitzel and chips while my husband Oli and I stick to salads and baked salmon or chicken (sans the skin).
For date night? Icebergs Dining Room in Bondi is so so good—from entrée to dessert, it is always amazing.
When it comes to casual eats around Sydney…
I often head to Eastside Kitchen & Bar in Kensington Street Chippendale which is New York Fusion. I like it because it’s casual but the food isn’t compromised. The vibe is great and the fit out is very international.
Harry’s Café in Bondi is my regular for Saturday morning breakfast with the family, the service is awesome and Shirley knows my order by heart.
If sushi is what the heart desires you cannot go past AZUMA in Chifley Square and for Chinese we LOVE Mr Wongs.
Staying healthy while on the road for work is so important for me and…
travelling can be hard especially when its different time zones. I do my best to walk A LOT to make up for the fact I am unable to maintain my usual gym and eating plan.
Also, I will ensure I stick to meals I would have at home, chicken, salads, fish, sushi, rather than going all out and feeling unhealthy and lethargic because my system has been filled with unhealthy foods.
The most memorable hotel I’ve ever stayed in is definitely…
JK Place in Capri. It is pretty amazing inside and in fact we based the interiors in our former home in Woollahra of the décor of this very hotel.
It was where Oli took Pixie and I for summer holidays after we were married so it’s always stuck in my mind.
My travel uniform always consists of…
Always a crop JBrand jean, a white tee and a Balmain blazer paired with a white leather Louis Vuitton trainer & Hermes Birkin Bag—oh and don’t forget the Ray Ban Aviators in gold AND black.
My ultimate carry-on bag is either…
Anything Louis Vuitton or a Goyard Wheelie Bag
Tech?
I always travel with my laptop so I can make the most of the quiet time and do my work. I aim to always fly airlines with WIFI service for this reason.
Beauty/skin treatments?
I always travel with self tanner and my mitt.
Nothing feels as good as a tan.I have my own tan now called ROXYTAN by Skinny Tan which is an ultra dark cream that glides on and gives the perfect bronzed look without cooking yourself in the harmful sun.
I have a serum I use daily from Clean Beauty Market (which is a fab organic and natural cosmetic store on the Gold Coast in Nobbys Beach). I also use a 111SKIN mask once a week (24 carat gold) and I lather on Dior moisturiser.
