Christmas can be a complex time. It calls for a wine that’s just as layered. Seriously. We’ve been quietly (and not so quietly) angst-ing over climate change and the impact our choices make on the planet. ⁣ ⁣ We’ve switched to compostable coffee pods, switched the almond milk and we are working on lowering our meat consumption. ⁣ ⁣ Did you know that skipping meat for 1 day a week would save the earth the equivalent emissions of taking your car off the road for 3 months? Yep. Pretty insane. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ But we’re not going to do is sit here and say we’re perfect and everyone should live like saints *immediately*, or that you have to ditch your meat fix altogether. You’re human, we’re human. We’re all trying to do our best. ⁣⁣⁣It’s an ongoing thing we’re working on. ⁣⁣⁣ So in the spirit of making a big difference with simple changes please say hello to our new #citizensmeatlessmondays series. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ It’s all about sharing how we’re making less meat interesting and most importantly EASY for us at Citizens HQ (A.K.A Home). Starting with this festive-themed roast from the meat-less magicians at @gardein. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Yes we know we’re releasing this on a Friday — it’s so you can prepare for Monday! ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ PLANT-BASED ROAST - SERVES 4⁣⁣⁣ INGREDIENTS:⁣⁣⁣ 2 Sweet Potatoes⁣⁣⁣ 4 Potatoes⁣⁣⁣ 1 Bunch of Broccoli⁣⁣⁣ 1 Plant-Based Roast from @gardein⁣⁣⁣ 4 Dinner Rolls⁣⁣⁣ 1 Handful of Herbs⁣⁣⁣ 4 Tbsp of Olive Oil⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ METHOD:⁣⁣⁣ 1. Chop potatoes and sweet potatoes.⁣⁣⁣ 2. Place on a lined pan and toss with herbs, olive oil and salt.⁣⁣⁣ 3. Remove roast from bag (must be frozen) and add to pan.⁣⁣⁣ 4. Bake for 1 hour on 190 degrees.⁣⁣⁣ 5. Steam broccoli.⁣⁣⁣ 6. Add rolls to oven for the last 10 mins of baking.⁣⁣⁣ 7. Heat gravy in microwave for 2 mins.⁣⁣⁣ 8. Remove from oven and slice roast.⁣⁣⁣ 9.
